The entire apartment smells like banana bread. It’s a beautiful thing, truly! It smells so heavenly I can’t really think of any smell I like more at the moment…My sister would probably go crazy (she hates bananas), but the only thing I am enjoying more than this smell is the taste of these cookies.

That one oral exam happening next week has brought out just as much “exam behavior” as all the written tests I have already taken, which is strange, as this oral exam is not even close to being as horrifc as the written ones. Stil, the typical symptoms are starting to show…general weariness, inability to relax even when laying in a bathtub, and an inability to stop stuffing my face with food. While stress-eating probably looks a little different, I still notice that this past half year, whenever pressure got too much, I had the desire to prepare something extravagant in my kitchen…and, obviously, then eat it.

I know what you’re thinking: “healthy” and “cinnamon rolls” just can’t be in the same sentence, let alone in a title in combination with the term “vegan”. I have made the impossible possible, though – but let’s back up.
In Germany, there is no such thing as a traditional cinnamon roll. We have poppyseed rolls and nut rolls, but they are three times the size of a traditional cinnamon roll, and very different in taste. When I think of a traditional cinnamon roll, I am thinking of a cup sized, thick, sticky, almost-sickly sweet crunchy-outside-gooey-inside roll with insanely melting icing.
