Vegan Low Carb Banana Bread Cookies

The entire apartment smells like banana bread. It’s a beautiful thing, truly! It smells so heavenly I can’t really think of any smell I like more at the moment…My sister would probably go crazy (she hates bananas), but the only thing I am enjoying more than this smell is the taste of these cookies.

Yup, I said it. Not Banana Bread. COOKIES!

3 Ingredient Peanutbutter Coconut Nicecream Mousse

That one oral exam happening next week has brought out just as much “exam behavior” as all the written tests I have already taken, which is strange, as this oral exam is not even close to being as horrifc as the written ones. Stil, the typical symptoms are starting to show…general weariness, inability to relax even when laying in a bathtub, and an inability to stop stuffing my face with food. While stress-eating probably looks a little different, I still notice that this past half year, whenever pressure got too much, I had the desire to prepare something extravagant in my kitchen…and, obviously, then eat it.

Healthy Vegan Cinnamon Rolls With All-Natural Sweetener

I know what you’re thinking: “healthy” and “cinnamon rolls” just can’t be in the same sentence, let alone in a title in combination with the term “vegan”. I have made the impossible possible, though – but let’s back up.

In Germany, there is no such thing as a traditional cinnamon roll. We have poppyseed rolls and nut rolls, but they are three times the size of a traditional cinnamon roll, and very different in taste. When I think of a traditional cinnamon roll, I am thinking of a cup sized, thick, sticky, almost-sickly sweet crunchy-outside-gooey-inside roll with insanely melting icing.

Blueberry Nicecream Bowl

Ice cream for breakfast? Sounds too decadent to actually do? Well, my dears, I have found the solution. Yesterday morning, I was just craving a sweet breakfast so badly, and was about to start baking cake or cookies out of the sheer desperation of really really REALLY needing something unhealthy. Do you get those kinds of cravings? I actually read in a magazine somewhere that if you’re in a study phase, you start craving high-sugar snacks even more than usually. Maybe I should just use that as an excuse…

Creamy Blueberry Vanilla Bowl With Toasted Cashews

I have been waiting for this part of the day since this morning! According to advisement (by my boyfriend), I luxuriously slept in until…uhm…8 am, which, you know, probably doesn’t mean “sleeping in” to anyone, at least not to those of you who are teenagers or students. But, for me, it was great to shut off the alarm and sleep until I simply woke up! And what better to start the day with than a bowl of hot, creamy oatmeal?

The December Salad: “Freaky” Ginger Fruit Salad With Salty Pistachio Crumbs

After my two hits “The October Salad” and “The November Salad”, I am not letting you down in December, and am, finally, on its very last day, posting my recipe for the December salad. However, this one is a little different. I was in a bit of a bind this month, as I don’t really enjoy salad as a main meal as much when it’s cold out. I much prefer soups, stews, or warm things in general when I am chilled to the bone – who wouldn’t?

Hunger-Fighting Avocado Salmon Salad And Homemade Blueberry Banana Yogurt

I have been sitting around the apartment waiting for my boyfriend to bring home some groceries for about 3 hours, but he still hasn’t shown. I’m guessing his training is running a little long, so I finally gave in to the roaring starving monster that has been screaming in my belly.

Walnut Brittle And Cranberry Covered Chocolate Bananas

Making home-made brittle has become my most recent pasttime. I have recently discovered how easy it is to make, and have been making lots of it, for this recipe on the one hand, and for decorating chocolate with it on the other hand. But more on that in a second!

Indulgent Double-Choc Dessertballs And Winter-Weariness

Being tired is so incredibly annoying. I absolutely despise feeling worn out, especially since it seems like I do so mostly throughout the day, and then, at night, I sleep very badly (or take forever to go to sleep). Either I have normal winter-weariness – I mean, it’s already getting dark and we just passed 3 pm) – or I have a bad case of chronic stressed-outness. I am, obviously, hoping for the first option!

The End of An Unproductive Day And Non-Alcoholic Dairy-free Pina Colada

There are just some days that are super-busy, but you feel like you haven’t accomplished anything by the end of it. Today was such a day…I feel like I have been running from one place to the next all morning and early afternoon, and the rest of the afternoon was spent doing nothing productive either. Really, the only thing I have achieved today is writing this and two other blogposts: Gluten-Free Oven-Baked Feta and Ugali na Chicha na Maharague. That’s something, I guess.
